Giving children the opportunity to reach their potential

All Washington children deserve to get their very best start – on good health, a successful education and a productive life. But not all of them get the chance. We think that’s wrong. And it’s not only harmful to kids. It’s bad for communities, for the economy and for society.

That’s why three experienced and dedicated pediatricians founded the Community Pediatric Foundation of Washington as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization in 2003 – to help ensure that all our children have the opportunity to achieve their potential. Ten years later, we changed our name to BestStart Washington to better reflect our desire to spark collaboration and creativity to address issues that will improve the lives of Washington children. Today, in collaboration with pediatricians and communities, we develop and fund innovative projects that improve children’s physical health, emotional wellbeing and academic achievement.
